This renovation involved removing and replacing interior and exterior walls, flooring, ceiling, lighting, etc. With deep historical routes in Grande Cache, the option of tearing down the building was not an ideal choice. Working with Finishing Touch Builders as the General Contractor, the AEC Building is now completely retrofitted and upgraded to be energy efficient, promoting a comfortable work environment and together we extended the longevity of the building while dramatically increasing the property value.
For many years the AEC Building in Grande Cache was a central location for various businesses. Due to its age and the impacts of our harsh weather, the building was in dire need of a complete renovation. This project involved stripping down the exterior and interior of the building to its frame and as such including the close working relationship and scheduling of services and trades. Today the building has a new modern exterior, new interior, new lighting, geothermal heating and cooling, plumbing, electrical and solar panels. Finishing Touch Builders also provided new R38 insulation in the walls and R50 in the ceiling. The new roof design provides optimal use of solar panels, combined with the geothermal heating and cooling system has eliminated the need for natural gas for the building. Today, the building is more efficient with their new layout design, has a fresh new modern look and is now more sustainable to our harsh weather patterns while being energy efficient.
We contacted John to add a room to our home. We were impressed with the way he answered our questions, so we had his company do the work. The workers were very professional in meeting our needs and kept the work site clean at all times. We are very happy with the work they did, and plan on using them again for a couple of other projects we want to be done.
