The Notre Dame High School had an outdoor storage area for their wood working shop. The initial request was to infill the area to deter pigeons and other pests from entering the area and damaging the materials.

The need to establish an infill was determined after extensive pests like pigeons and rodents took up residence and built nests in the storage area affecting the materials used in the school’s wood working program.
After attempts such as using nets to mitigate this problem, we were called to apply our expertise to solve this issue without harming the environment.
Working with Group 2 Architect, we were asked to infill the canopy area used for storage that faced the back of the school where many sporting activities take place.
Using anti-pigeon spikes and other environmentally friendly pest deterrents we closed in the canopy. This entailed removing the existing netting and materials and framing the inside to be level with the bottom of the canopy. Using a metal liner on bottom we also ensured there was ventilation for proper air circulation. Adding trim to the enclosed canopy finalized this project, which now keeps birds and other pests out and improves the visual appeal, maintains the schools supplies for the wood working students at Notre Dame High School.
